Sierra Billock, the 2009 Miss Santee, will compete in a field of 24 young women in the first Miss San Diego Cities Pageant. The event takes place on Memorial Day, Monday May 30, at the Joan Kroc Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Miss San Diego Cities is the first county-wide pageant since the Fairest of the Fair ended in 2004 that does not include swimsuit or talent elements in the competition.
The pageant is 4 Points Event Production under the direction of Alexandra Kuty, who is also executive director of the Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee Pageants. The goal of the pageant is to provide young women from around San Diego the opportunity to compete for the right to represent the entire county. Contestants do not need to have won a previous pageant to participate.
As the 2009 Miss Santee, Miss Billock was heavily involved in city events and the Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee Pageants. It was her efforts that brought about the Fashion Rocks the East fashion show to raise money for scholarships for the winners. Miss Billock continues to be involved with the pageants and helped to coordinate the 2010 fashion show.
Admission to the Miss San Diego Cities Pageant is $20 at the door. The Joan B. Kroc Theater is located at 6845 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92115.
