According to the Mother Goose Parade Association, there will be a parade this year – although somewhat smaller than last year’s. There will be no big name stars, but there will still be local groups, marching bands, and floats. Honestly, maybe this is for the best, as the parade had been gradually getting more “Hollywood” in recent years.
But although the parade is still going to happen, there is still a need for funds to help it happen. That is why the Association is holding a fundraiser on Saturday, October 10, at the East County Performing Arts Center. The cost is $15 and entertainment will include various tribute artists, music by No Duh (a No Doubt tribute band), and host/organizer Sam Sparrow, a Johnny Depp/Captain Jack Sparrow tribute artist.
