This month the Chamber of Commerce After-5 Mixer was held at We Know Best, a computer and network service company located on the west side of Santee at 8011 Mission Gorge Rd. Even though it was a rather low-key affair this month, there was still a good deal of networking going on, with representatives from a variety of businesses.
Among those present were Chamber Directors Warren Savage, Ronn Hall, Dan O’Brien, Sharon Smail, and John Morley. Also attending were Virginia Hall, Terry Harris, Vickie Watkins, Don Preis, Richelle Lopez, and several others whose names I, unfortunately, didn’t get. The Mixer was also graced with the presence of Miss Santee Teen, Lizzie Lingasin – in the midst of a busy week of community activities.
This month the 50-50 winner was Richelle Lopez of Extra Space Storage. Pardee Homes was pulled for the Membership Drawing, but unfortunately for them no one from the company was present. So the money will wait until next month when the prize will be $150 – so be sure to sign up as a member of the Chamber if you aren’t already. Believe me, it works – one month a brand new member won the drawing. Oh, and if your name is drawn and you aren’t there, you get pulled until you show up and put your card back in – so someone from Pardee Homes had better get to the next mixer.
A big “thank you” to WeKnowBest.com for hosting this month’s mixer. The next After-5 Mixer will be the annual Taste of Santee on December 4 at the Union Bank on Mission Gorge Rd. at Cuyamaca Street. Admission for this event is a new, unwrapped toy or non-perishable food item – or $5 – which will go to Santee Santas to help with their annual drive for needy families. This is a great event with food from several local restaurants and caterers, music, and all-around fun. The festivities begin at 5:30, so don’t be late or the best food might be gone.
