February 2008 Chamber of Commerce Mixer

Ronn and Virginia Hall

Ronn and Virginia Hall

Every month the Santee Chamber of Commerce holds a business mixer, usually on the third Thursday.  The mixer, hosted by a different business each time, is an opportunity for the various companies in Santee to get together to chat, network, share, and enjoy good food.  This month the mixer was hosted by Ronn and Virginia Hall at the new offices of Ronn Hall Insurance Services and Virginia Hall Realty.  This is one nice office – big enough to get things done, but small enough to feel cozy and intimate.  And Ronn was very proud to say that everything in the office – furniture, decorations, etc. – was bought in Santee.  Oh, and I also should mention that some of the food was provided by Hungry Howie’s Pizza, KB’s Barbecue, and Eccentric International Chefs – all delicious.

I arrived a bit late (I had to do some running around before I could get there), and by then at least two dozen business people and other community members were there enjoying the food and fellowship.  One of the great things about these mixers, well besides the food, is the chance to meet and network with others in the business community.  Usually the mixer starts about 5:30 pm and then around 7:00 pm there is time for introducing yourself, followed by raffles.  Every month there is a 50-50 drawing – this month the winner was Rob McNelis of One Stop Lending & Realty.  For me, the best part of the night was meeting a number of Chamber members who would like to be featured in my blog – so I will have plenty of fodder for future posts.

Next time I will introduce you to the Chamber itself and give you a little background on this group.
